Collection Description
This collection contains ephemera regarding various social issues across the United States, with specific attention paid to the San Diego State University (College) campus and the greater San Diego area. The bulk of the collection dates from the late 1960s to the mid 1970s, but material extends as far forward as 2017.
Some of the issues covered include: women's rights; civil rights; Marxism; Socialism; Vietnam war protests; prisoners' rights; and counter-culture or alternative lifestyles.

- This reproduces a page from an undated article from an unknown newspaper covering Jan Gleason's reaction to Bishop Leo T. Maher's ban forbidding pro-abortion Roman Catholics from receiving communion. A photograph of Gleason is at upper right.

It is signed by "SRL" for the University Freedom Movement. This mimeographed document has many of the problems of its method of reproduction, including light areas and letters, cutouts, bleedthrough, etc. This was most likely at the University of Texas at Austin.
