The 19th-century compiler of the family papers, Miguel Cervantes, put together this second folder, in Volume 1, relating to an original land grant amounting to 211.6 acres, to Antonio de Ayala, one caballeria being the amount granted to a horse soldier. The grant is from the viceroy of Mexico, Juan de Mendoza y Luna.
