The purpose of this study was to establish the personality profile of elite NCAA Division I college basketball athletes and evaluate their perceptions of personality identity. Collegiate basketball players from San Diego State University were administered a DISC Personality Assessment with additional survey questions to ascertain their unique personality styles and perceptions of personality identification. It was predicted that the San Diego State University college basketball athletes would score as Dominant on the assessment and that they would perceive themselves and their teammates to be characterized with the Dominant personality type. The results found that the majority of the athletes scored with the Dominant personality type, they perceived themselves to be primarily the Dominant type, and they viewed their teammates to be predominantly Dominant in their personality type.
