Description
This thesis is focused on the development of a web application tool to provide users, information about geographic and geospatial aspects of the environmental problems and conservation issues in the Gulf of California-Baja California region. For this purpose, the web application will deliver water quality information, protected areas and land types of the Gulf of California. The data, in the form of shape files, would be created and stored at an ESRI GIS server (geoinfo.sdsu.edu/rest/services) and exposed using Representational State Transfer (REST) services. A Flex application was built using those REST services. The application leverages the API's provided by the ERSI Arc GIS Server and the Flex API's for Arc GIS. The interface is developed using technologies like Adobe Flex and Arc GIS server. This project seeks to aid in the protection of the Gulf of California through the systematized study of strategic information together with risk and sustainability indicators.
