In this thesis the educational system is looked at and alternatives are presented. Currently, the educational system is not providing students with adequate tools in order to engage in a conversation about the world. Students are not being taught through ethics. The current educational system is teaching our students to abide by individualism and teaching them to be competitive and truly abide by the ethos of capitalistic society. Alternative education that is talked about is that of a community as nothing more than a commitment to the growth of what human beings are capable of—loving, caring, creative beings who are able to engage in critical thought.
