GIS and multimedia presentation of women's status across the world
The purpose of this application is to demonstrate the status of women across the world by representing the statistical data in a more interactive manner. The application is developed in Java with MOJO (MapObjects Java Objects), provided by ESRI. This software is a graphical interface tool developed to inspire students to learn and explore facts about women's status categorized in five different areas, namely population, health, marriage, education and employment. Multimedia like audio, video, text, images and links to the internet are used to make the application more interactive and informative, which could help enhance student's interest and motivation for learning. It allows student to click on different countries on a world map and explore a great deal of information by facts, figures and graphs. The Administration control is provided to the application, which allows the teacher to add, update or modify the data, which makes the information up-to-date for students. For self analysis there are some practice quizzes and a game which allows student to learn in a fun way.
