Coaches have the ability to greatly impact an athlete's experience with sports. The primary focus of this study is to examine how a coach's leadership style and use of team building activities affect team cohesion, commitment, and communication. More specifically this study looks at task and relational leadership styles of the coach as well as how often he or she utilizes team-building activities with his or her team. The study will measure how these two variables influence team cohesion, commitment, and communication. Participants will be Southern Californian, high school-aged female volleyball players and their coaches. Results did not support the hypotheses; however, significant relationships were found among coaching and team variables independently
