The street carried by the bridge is called El Prado in 2013. Puente Cabrillo was designed for the Panama-California Exposition of 1915 by Frank Phillips Allen, Jr. (1881-1943), and Thomas B. Hunter, with construction and opening in 1914. The reverse reads: "Cabrillo Bridge, June 1918".
