In a segment that aired on June 9 and 10, 1983, announcer Rick Moore briefly describes the 1969 Stonewall Inn protests in New York City and later activism on behalf of LGBTQ rights. Doug Moore explains why the parade replaced the political march in later years, aided by Carla Koshow and John "Big John" Pfingston. The date and route of the 1983 parade and the time, date, and place of the festival are given, along with the announcer's name and "Contact 89."
