The motivation behind the development of this software is to employ current technology in the interest of an modern education approach. Learning about history through an interactive tool which is multimedia map based approach and confirms well to the culture familiar to students this generation. This thesis focuses on creating a GIS tool showcasing the history of the Middle East empires which including major battles fought during each respective ruling empire. All efforts have been made to design this software in such a way that users have the ability to click on particular events and see more details on respective webpages. This approach presents an effective learning tool for users by providing an interactive environment. Each of the geographic location types was established as a layer on a map encompassing Middle East countries. Each layer createdis a point layer or polygon layer or a line layer. GIS technologies like MapObjects � JAVA edition and JAVA were used along with the Eclipse IDE to develop this tool.
