of their lives in the U.S., a time during which they were criminalized and imprisoned, and eventually deported to their country of origin without any consideration. In utilizing existing theory which identifies migration, imprisonment, and deportation as profitable acts of "expulsion" from society, this study seeks to demonstrate the relationship within the three levels of expulsion experienced by this deportee population as well as the role of television news reports in naturalizing their dehumanization which in turn serves to justify their expulsion.
