La Amistad was a 19th-century two-master schooner built in Spain. The schooner traveled long the coast of Cuba on its way to a port for re-sale of the slaves. The African captives, who had been kidnapped in Sierra Leone and illegally sold into slavery and shipped to Cuba, escaped their shackles and took over the ship. 'The Amistad' is an Android application showing the Map of the voyage. The application allows users to learn in detail about the voyage with chronological ordering of events, know about the various trials and see a small trailer of the movie 'The Amistad'. This being a mobile application reduces the overhead of carrying a laptop and gives detailed information within a few taps on the mobile screen. At present, there is no mobile application that provides the ability to learn about the history of the Amistad event on the fly. 'The Amistad' uses the robustness of Google's Android OS platform along with the accurateness of the Google Maps API. This application does not have any pre-requisites and can be installed with ease on any handheld device. It is an application that enables users to learn about the world history as they enjoy their travel.
