This thesis provides an open-source library for the GIS data mapping platform. The focus of this library is to plot data stored in dBASE(.dbf) file using scatter plots and determining relationships between these data points and find outliers by using various regression models. The goal is to build a library that can be imported to add charting functionality, display scatter diagram, display lines of regression and render three-dimensional pie and bar charts. This thesis emphasizes on visual display of quantitative fields stored in a map database file using charts. The main intent of this project is to add new capabilities to the charting facility for geographical data using the Java language. This thesis aims towards integration of new charting tools with any map objects java objects(MOJO) program by ESRI’s Map Objects, Java Edition.
