Cornerstone Commercial Construction (CCC) enters the marketplace of commercial construction in San Diego effective September 1, 2000. Though CCC incorporated officially two years ago in 1998, a partnership with TFW Construction prohibited CCC from advertising or contracting business under its own name. With the partnership dissolving, the strategy of planning for growth and development is critical. Accomplishment of this strategy involves the process of research, analysis, and evaluation of the current marketplace as well as the construction industry's growth potential. These processes comprise the essential components of a business plan for CCC. Understanding the marketplace through research of the competition and the industry indicators contributes to CCC's strategies for market penetration and niche segments. Though the construction industry struggles with negative image and perception problems, CCC strives to rise above those problems by conducting business with professionalism and ethics. The business plan portion of this paper focuses on key business segments, specifically market analysis and development strategies, outlining a course for CCC success.
