Eleutheria, which translates to freedom from slavery in Greek, is a story that explores the meaning of freedom, the perversion of leisure, and the hollow truth of the American Dream. My story was heavily inspired and influenced by Marx, Nietzsche, and Weber’s sociological theories. Specifically, Marx's ideas on alienation within the workplace, Nietzsche’s slave revolt in morality, and Weber’s concept of the spirit of capitalism. Overall, this thesis aimed to show readers that the story of Vita lives within us all.
