This work is a poetry chapbook that focuses on using poetics for existential inquiry. The author comes from a background in Philosophy and Religious Studies and is using the venue of poetry as a meditation on events that cause someone to start down the path of questioning concerning freedom, identity, purpose, mortality and morality. As is the case with any artistic venture the intent is for the particular instances to connect to the general, to the broader scope of such personal/philosophical endeavors. It is the shared nature of our concerns, the humility acquired by such undertakings, that help to prevent the concretizing of existential angst and guard against falling into a solipsistic or nihilistic frame of mind. The contemplation of cause and effect, our power, and its limitations, in action, and the implications therein, can breed difficult concepts to understand and ignore. The work explores some of the impacts of this line of thinking and acknowledges that while answers may be out of reach, there are resolutions that are worthy of consideration.
