Carolyn Ann Kirkendall (also known as Carolyn Ann Thomas) wears a white head scarf and operates a sewing machine, with her daughter, Lavonne Shannel Thomas, to her right. There are several other women sitting at the same or adjacent tables, all presumably also constructing toys. This photograph is located in the Moore Family's blue album but was originally recovered from Jonestown by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. A handwritten note in the album next to the print reads: "(In headdress) Carolyn Thomas Mercer and daughter Lavonne."
