The purpose of this thesis is to consider attempts to remedy tuberculosis in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries that preceded the introduction of antibiotics. It examines these approaches to determine their effectiveness. The purpose of this is to determine the historical method with the best utility against multi-drug resistant and extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis in the twenty-first century. To accomplish this, accounts, studies, and statistics, both historical and modern, are analyzed to conclude the best option to use against drug-resistant tuberculosis.
