The colonization of minority groups of people has been happening for centuries. These minority groups have tried to escape being colonized and one way of doing achieving this is through literature that other minority groups can identify with. This research focuses on identifying traditional instances of colonialism, moving towards an in-depth exploration into issues of public and private domains, drawing on the theories and concepts articulated by philosopher Homi Bhabha. These theories are applied to works by authors such as Jean Rhys, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and Julio Cortázar, among others.
