Sepia image of a color mural depicting Richard Henry Dana, Jr. landing in California in 1835. Dana's subsequent book Two Years Before the Mast would become a classic of sea travel. One of ten murals depicting events in the history of California. They were originally created for the Los Angeles County Hall of Records in 1936 and 1937. All were removed from the building prior to its demolition on July 7, 1973. All are believed to be in storage for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
