This "pleasure pier" (on the left) was built next to the Santa Monica Municipal Pier (on the right) around 1916. The buildings shown here included the Hippodrome and contained restaurants, a carousel, and attractions other than the roller coaster on the ocean side. The view is toward the southwest, with the Aeroscope ride on the far left. The publisher's number 300 is in front of the title at the top. Kashower produced the same image and number as a white-border postcard, probably later, and a somewhat wider view of the same image was published by Western Publishing and Novelty Company in 1922. Kashower was in business 1914-1934.
