Nine men stand around a rough table and next to trees in snow in front of a lodge. Pinecrest was developed as a logging area and for its water, in the Sierra Nevada Mountains on the southwest side of the area that became Pinecrest Lake (last dam built in 1916). The area later supported two resorts, summer homes, and campgrounds. Mitchell's number in the lower left corner is 2490. The image is marred by a line through a couple of the images of men just to right of center. The approximate date is 1912.
