The amphitheater on the right is not actually on the Bay but up an eastern hill of Avalon Canyon. Seaward of the amphitheater is the Holly Hill House. On the immediate right is a funicular climbing to an inn at the top of the hill. The green pleasure pier is toward the viewer from the steamship pier, from which a ship is departing. Avalon the town is arrayed along the beach at left. The publisher's number is E4 on the divided back. This card has been clipped and pasted on heavy cardboard, making its back inaccessible, but other cards from the same run are available. The approximate date is the 1910s.
