This linen color postcard produced by the Curt Teich Art Colortone Method has a wealth of detail in both representations of tourist attractions and whimsy (such as the figure of Neptune off the southwest coast of Catalina). Inset photographs at the bottom of the card, starting with the circle at the left are: one of the four steamships that ferried passengers from San Pedro to Catalina; the Catalina Casino, the famed "Avalon Ballroom" from which famous bands broadcast nationwide on the radio; a steamship at anchor at its pier in Avalon Bay; the same steamship and Avalon from the other side of the Bay; a waterskiing couple holding hands. Marked 5A-H875 in the lower right corner as part of a dating system that spanned 1900-1978, Curt Teich's number defines the date. The publisher's number in the top right corner is C.27.
