Burton Frasher, Sr., travelled all over the Western United States to take the photographs known as "Frasher's Fotos" (as in the logo near the right bottom corner). In this case he was in Descanso Bay, off Santa Catalina Island, looking toward the St. Catherine Hotel and Descanso Canyon. After opening a studio in Pomona in 1920, he continued to produce his postcards as Real photo postcards (RPPC), by a photographic process rather than printing. The photographic papers used as postcard backing have been indexed as to year, and the Dops paper used in this photograph (as shown in the stampbox on the back) began production in 1925, continuing until 1942. The number "F557" written in ink on the picture and the back of the card is in the style of Frasher's numbers.
