The homes of Hollywood movie stars have traditionally been the subjects of postcards. Many postcards were constructed like this one, with a photograph of the home and an inset of a publicity photograph of the actor. In this case the actor was Dorothy Lamour (1914-1996), who was best known for starring in a series of comedies known as the "Road" movies for their titles ("Road to Singapore," "Road to Zanzibar," etc.) According to the Curt Teich Postcard Archives, the number in the right lower corner of this card, OB-H508, places its publication in 1940. The publisher's number at the top of this card is 834.
