This hand-tinted picture postcard shows Broadway Street in San Diego looking east toward The US Grant hotel (on the left where the third streetcar from the left is). This streetcar might be a Class 1, ordered by streetcar-company owner Spreckels, John D. (1853-1926) for addition to the fleet starting in 1912. Horton Plaza can barely be seen from on the right in front of the hotel. The streetcars are California cars. As usual, the superstructure of wires for the streetcars has been removed from this enhanced photograph. The publisher was active from 1907-1956. The approximate date is the 1910s.
