This is a hand-tinted picture postcard depicting Broadway, looking west toward San Diego Bay, which appears to be at the end of the street. The U.S. Grant Hotel is on the right-hand corner (later The US Grant hotel) at Sixth Avenue (530 Broadway), with Horton Plaza across the street with the electric fountain by Irving Gill (1870-1936). A streetcar is in the distance. The hotel was opened in 1910, the fountain in the plaza in 1909. The Curt Teich number on the back of the card is A-51192, decoded to the year 1913.
