This black-and-white picture postcard has a reproduction of "Bernardita" by Robert Henri (1865-1929), a painting in color given to the Fine Arts Society of San Diego by the "Wednesday Club." The painting is in the permanent collection of the San Diego Museum of Art. Henri (whose birth name was Robert Henry Cozad) was a member of what came to be called the Ashcan School of American Art. This is a Real Photo postcard (RPPC) made with EKC photo paper (as evidenced in the stampbox on the back of this card). The Real Photo process allowed photographers to take a "snapshot" and have it finished at a photo shop that printed it out on postcard backing for mailing. This EKC photo paper was made from 1930-1950.
