The image side of this picture postcard depicts ceremonial gloves or hands with arms wrought in gold. The reverse side gives information about an exhibit of Chimu artifacts at the San Diego Museum of Art from August 25 to November 30, 1980, describing the representations in the metalwork as being of "warriors in plumed headdresses, breastplates, and short skirts." The Chimu, who resided on the northern coast of Peru, were conquered by the Inca 50 years before the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors. The publisher's number in the stampbox on the back is 32937-2.
