This picture postcard from the "Animal Color Series from the San Diego Zoo" identifies the animals in the picture section as "Young Guanaco and admirer" at the "Children's Zoo." The Children's Zoo is part of the San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park, San Diego, California. Guanacos are the wild animals from which llamas were domesticated by native peoples in the Andes. Young guanacos are called chulengos, and this one is facing a small girl who is apparently touching the left side of the guanaco, whose right side is facing the camera.
