Fette Max (Max Etzkorn) at the Bavarian Beer Garden run by Eckert's during the California Pacific Exposition of 1935. The Exposition was held in San Diego's Balboa Park. The writing on the bottom right identifies the card as the work of Andries Nielen, bearing the inscription "Cin.O.," after which is a number of the negative (here 202) and the year in which the photograph was taken ("36" or 1936). "Schnitzelbank" (here "Schnitzel-Bank") refers to a rhyming, humorous song in German.
