The Japanese Tea Pavilion (or Tea House or Tea Garden), 1914-1955 in San Diego's Balboa Park, was located northeast of the Botanical Building. It was built by the Japanese Tea Associatiion and the Japanese and Formosan governments for the California-Panama Exposition of 1915. Maintained by the Asakawa family until 1941, it was then used by the US military during World War II, and was finally razed in 1955. The area where it stood is now the Children's Zoo feature of the San Diego Zoo.
