The Varied Industries Building and Food Products Building is shown from the other side of the Lagunita at the California-Panama Exposition of 1915 held in San Diego's Balboa Park to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal. One side of he Botanical Building can be glimpsed on the far left. The Lagunita (north pool of the Lily Pond) immediately in front of the Botanical Building (far left) is in the foreground, with the footbridge separating the Lagunita from the Laguna on the right. The building reflected in the pond was renamed the Foreign and Domestic Building (1916), then the Palace of Food and Beverages (1935). After the building was closed in 1968, it was reconstructed by architect Richard George Wheeler (1917-1990) and reopened in 1971 as the Casa del Prado, without the apse shown here.
