Description
The past four years have been the hottest years recorded in human history. To tackle a problem as big as air pollution, greenhouse emissions and plastic pollution we need a solution that focuses on reducing waste and which is also a renewable source of energy. Here at Nano.Fab SDSU which has developed and patented a 3D micro-pillar platform to enhance light trapping mechanism was used to investigate the effect of low band gap polymers for OSCs. The effort is in advancing the platform to a tandem 3D platform for which it was crucial to study physical, electrical and geometric properties of the layer deposition , layer morphology and layer adhesion. This research provides protocols to study the effect on various substrates by combining the photolithography methods and optoelectronic characterization methods to achieve functioning low band gap OSCs.
